Making Gingerbread men cookies with my man!

December 24, 2008!  Holly molly rolly polly, I got Andy to get busy in the kitchen with me!  I always forget how much easier bakery-life is when there is an extra pair of hands on board!   By the way, the cute little apron I am wearing was hand-made by Andy’s great grandmother!  I am so honored to have this!

Rolling and cutting that dough! FYI: It is so important to use flour on your workspace to disable the dough from sticking to the surface!

My favorite part, decorating the cookies!!! First we outlined each gingerbread man with white royal icing!

We put 3 dots of royal icing on their belly's as glue for the cinnamon candies that we used as buttons!

And then they were blessed with a smile and beautiful eyes!

These cookies were a joy to give to our loved ones!  By the way, this cookie + several others we made worked out great for this 3-layer cake!  🙂

The tablecloth made my cupcakes!

Christmas 2008!   Every year, my mom & dad have a  yearly office party!  This year, they requested that I make red velvet cupcakes!  Unfortunately they asked me last minute and I had a million things on my plate.  I ran short on time so I threw some sprinkles on top and called it a day!  Luckily, they had a bright red table cloth which made these ordinarily cupcakes a success!

Lesson of the day: Tableclothes can dress up cupcakes or any desserts!  Sweeeeeet!

Christmas in 1 bite!

I intend to post only cute recipes, if you know what I mean!  This recipe isn’t that attractive but let me tell you, it honestly is a MUST HAVE!  I just could NOT go to sleep at night not knowing that I did not share this with my fellow readers!  Christmas 2008, I was on a mission!  I was on a mission to find a recipe that screamed Christmas!

Do the math!

egg nog + gingerbread + nut meg = Christmas

Santa’s Eggnog Cups= Christmas

This recipe is absolutely amazing!  It is quite simple and it truly does scream Christmas!  I loved it so much that  I have decided to make this recipe as a yearly tradition!  This is a must have recipe for the holiday season.  No serving plates/napkins/forks necessary!  Finger food rocks!

Rolling out the dough!

Rolling out the dough! I used a Wilton circle cookie cutter! After shaping the gingerbread like crust with my hands, I baked them in a mini muffin pan at 350* for 10 minutes!

They turned out perfect after baking them for 9 minutes instead of the requested 10-12 minutes.

I then made a eggnog/white chocolate mixture on the stovetop. I used a pastry bag to put the mixture in each individual cup! I then garnished each cup with a dash of nutmeg!

Christmas cookie

The holidays have arrived so quickly this year!  My boyfriend’s mom is an elementary school teacher.  Each year, she gives her parent helpers a very special treat for Christmas.  This year she asked me to make cookie bouquets for the parents!  I had a blast making these! 🙂
